WASHINGTON (PA) – Telling her bridge club that "America needs and deserves better than what they've had for the last eight years," Laura Bush today "unequivocally" endorsed Barack Obama to be the next President of the United State.
Playing with her friends in the family quarters of the White House, the First Lady bid three spades and then made the startling statement. Maggie Dwyer, who was Mrs. Bush's partner at the time, said that she couldn't believe it. "Why, she couldn't have held enough spades to answer my initial bid of one club like that," Ms. Dwyer said to reporters later. "There was simply no way we could have made such a bid."
