It might be too clever for the US electorate, but the point would be, does Al Qaeda think the US electorate are that thick? They might of course, but who knows? They might actually think Americans are really on the ball. Depends how naive they are...

Thinking that your opponent is a lot cleverer than they actually are can be a real problem at times. I was reading a piece in the paper where the writer was reminiscing about how he once once played a couple of chess games with a stranger. He beat him easily both times, and then found out that the man was a top-ranking chess champion, so he thougt perhaps he was siome kind of chess genius.

But it turned out the champion had thought this bloke was a really good chess player, and that his mistakes were really clever ploys. By the next time they played the champion had found out the truth. He had no trouble wiping him out in a few moves.

I gather there's a story now that the Iranians have said they think Obama would be their preferred president, Presumably this means they would actually prefer McCain. But on the other hand...

Best to ignore all this. or you'd go crazy
