The only thing I find wrong - or at least ironic - about Sarah Palin having such an expensive designer wardrobe (no matter who pays for it) is that she and the Republicans have been trying so hard to paint themselves as "plain folks" and marginalize Obama as "elitist" and some sort of "Hollywood celebrity."
Wearing clothes from Nieman Marcus and designer labels doesn't really jibe with the down-home, working-class, ordinary non-elitist, non-celebrity image that Palin has tried so hard to milk.
I'd say spending over $300,000 for her convention outfit kind of makes Cindy McCain seem a bit "elitist" too, even if she did buy it with her inherited money.
The Obamas are much more "plain middle-class" folks than the McCains ever were, at least where privilege is concerned (if not intellect and education).
