Here's a vid of Michael Tomasky of the Guardian today speculating about Bush carrying out a military attack as an electoral ploy, and deciding that it would probably be too blatant for him to get much leverage from it, given how unpopular he is right now. Of course, this was made before this raid on Syria happened, or at least before the news broke. Still, maybe he is right about it not being likely to work.
