Love the strategy games like CIV 4 and those types. THe most recent type of game that my wife and I enjoy, because we can play them together (as in the same room, watching and helping each other out) are games like Broken Sword, Journey To The Center Of The Earth, Nibiru. I don't even know what you call the genre, but for fans of being amazed by graphics and puzzles-you have to walk around solving differing degrees of puzzles, unfolding some mystery as you go. Broken Sword has a great storyline, just a bit of a fantastical element, but also the feeling that it could be you involved, so depending on how well you do with mysteries, its up to you to figure it out. Lots of things like picking up objects, but then figuring out at the right moment how and what you should combine to be able to move ahead and progress. Its great because we can sit there and say-go over there, whats that thing on the ground?
We just played a great one like that based on Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None. Great scenery, and voice actors-it was a lot of fun. My favorite first person shooter was No One Lives Forever-just the right mix of gunplay, storyline, with a campy 60's James Bond feel about it too. If I could only have one game though, it would be CIV, no question about it!
