I've come across hymns here and there written by Ernest Sands, but all I've been able to find out about him is that he was born in 1949. Anybody know anything about him. Is he a member of the singing Sands family of Ireland?
His hymn I know best is "Sing of the Lord's Goodness," which is in 5/4 time and reminds me of Brubeck's "Take Five." He also wrote "Song of Farewell," which is my favorite version of "In Paradisum" ('May the choirs of angels come to meet you' - the final song at Catholic funerals).
