I have owned and played previous versions of Warcraft, but I still always preferred strategy games over arcade-style shoot-em-ups of slash-em-ups. Warcraft had some strategy characteristics, but I preferred more open option city-or-empire-building SIMs.

I worked with a bleary-eyed guy super-addicted to WoW and I asked him about it and he told me, "That game sucks at your soul." So I avoided it. I waste enough time on the computer as it is. I've seen the dawn come up enough times while playing CivIII....

"Just one more turn... just get this city established... just build a road to this feature...."
