A lot of nasty things happened back in the 60s, as a result of a cruel war against people who had never done anything to hurt the USA.

It's right to recognise that people who fought in that war did so for reasons that seemed good to them at the time, and to move on. The same should apply to people who fought against that war, when they did things they should not have.
