This is a biggggg country. I notice that close to 90% of the posts are from Englishfolk who have no shortage of songwriters who live near them. Gordon Bok is a friend and one of my favorite songwriters. He's almost right next door... no more than 400-500 miles away. That said, there are a lot of good songwriters who may not fall into the category of "favorite" simply because they aren't well know and aren't primarily known as songwriters. Why, even died in the wool traditionalists like Art Thieme have written a couple of songs. Art's no more than a thousand miles away from here, so we don't get together much.

Maybe us Amuricans need a thread titled Songwriters living on your continent.
