To momentarily return to the Post Office, my dad, uncle, and granddad, and my mum were all in the Post Office, also my ex, and, Tam, it used to be like that in the old days. I don't know if you had to pass a test in my parent's time, b;ut there was certainly an aptitude test in later years. It strikes me that you had to already have a relative working there.
