Bernard, thank you! I added the ip address of one computer to the ZA trusted zone of the other computer which controls the shared printer, and it now works! I was under the impression that the ip address changed every time I booted the computer because of the type of ISP I used, but that is apparently not the case. Don't know where I got the idea that the ip addr was somehow randomized...

Thanks also for walking me through the steps to get to command mode, where I have not ventured in quite awhile.
