We'll be hearing a lot of songs by folk-rooted performers who'll be doing free concerts at the Montreal Jazz Festival including Rory Block, Ray Bonneville, Brave Old World, Guy Davis, Ken Hamm, Rob Lutes, Kelly Joe Phelps, Josh White, Jr., and more.Recordings making their Folk Roots/Folk Branches debut tomorrow include new releases by Donna the Buffalo, Laura Love, Lisa Moscatiello, James Talley, Koko Taylor…and a hootenanny version of Woody Guthrie's "Hard Travelin'" featuring Arlo Guthrie, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Bragg, David Pirner, the Indigo Girls, Ani DiFranco and Ramblin' Jack Elliott.
Also on the agenda are songs from Eric Bibb, Margaret Christl, Finest Kind, Bill Garrett, Woody Guthrie, Connie Kaldor, Dougie MacLean, Lee Murdock, Night Sun, Odetta, Tom Russell, Louise Taylor, Artie Traum, the Vanaver Caravan, Jesse Winchester, John Wright and more.
