Cinder blocks + plywood - clutter = new knee-friendly back steps. Need to buy a coupla blocks and shim the whole (Hardi's job), then I'm done.

Measured current dog yard for idfeas on using the chainlink we FC'd in, and found there will be plenty-- slightly bigger dog yard likely but the existing 4x4 posts will stay put and the extra yardage will hoop out from them looking kind neat and curvy. A strip of grass where I can place a coupla wind shelters and the dogs won't tear up the grass, but lounge on it instead. Prolly room for a folding chair for moi, and the new stuff includes a gate. Maybe I'll set out a grooming stand in there too. Heck, I'll just move in.
