I'm sittin' on Hanlon Mt. on the east side, and Bascom Lamar Lunsford's people are just a stones' throw over on the other side. We've given a copy of the Smithsonian recording mentioned above to local folks hearabouts who danced at his home on Turkey Creek road.
The music is alive and well, down here in Leicester, NC (Asheville).
