The London scene strangely doesn't seem to be able to cater for the (how can I say) the upper echelon of Folk festival performers though I note Twickfolk has healthy list of good performers

In general small venues are preferable for me, as I like the intimate atmosphere and relative closeness of the guest.

Well try and get to us in Walthamstow, Betsy you'll find a similarly healthy list as Twickemham, and we are small and intimate. Of course I mean the venue!!!

It's a shame Twickenham and ourselves are the same night, Sundays. It's a miracle we can do it being so close together why even in the same city ;-)

And have a good one Goose, can't be there myself but will see you in December when I think I can "honestly" say that I'm doing a support, or is that another thread?

And just a last, hopefully amusing bit re DG to get back on topic. A few years ago we had him booked but it had to be rescheduled at short notice as he needed an operation. Everyone understood the situation apart from one person who complained bitterly that Dick should waited until the end of the tour before having his op. I was flabbergasted at the attitude and asked the person if he really knew Dick and did he assume he was having it done privately on BUPA or somesuch! Amazing.
