Thread Name: seeking online translator - Welsh / English
Subject: RE: Tech: On line translation - Welsh / English
I love a girl from Penderyn parish And I've been courting her for many a day I couldn't love any other girl Ever since I saw this round-faced girl. It is so easy to watch her Even though she's just a wee thing When I go out to roam the fields She heals my ailing heart.
I'm going tonight, God help me, To say (sing) farewell to my little star And tomorrow the bellringer will have work Digging my grave under the yew tree And writing my name On the stone at the base of the tree That I've been laid low At the bottom of a grave for the love of Gwen.
There are some typos in the Welsh so, just in case anyone was 'harvesting' it, be aware. Nice song. We were just singing it a fortnight ago on our residential weekend ... I've not seen a singable English translation, but there may be one somewhere.
