Subject: RE: Who is your favorite blues artist?
Well yeah, Mark Ross, John Jackson was not only a great blues player but a gentleman, to boot... Had the pleasue of jammin' with him every afternoon at Blues Week in 2001.... Very nice man...

And unbeknownst to alot of folks Mississippi John Hurt and John Jackson had alot in common... Both playued a similar style and both played with Archie Edwards of the Archie Edwards Barber Shop, where I cut my teeth, fame...

Yup, seems that John Hurt's daughter lived with Archie while in college and John Hurt moved to DC and he and Archie went off to Europe together on a tour... John Jackson also frequented the barber shop in the early days...

Funny story... I was talkin' with John Jackson about places he ahd worked and discovered that he had worked a a gas station in Fairfax, Va. at the same time I was working as a "car-hop" at a drive in resturant right accross the street from him??? Small world...

BTW, anyone heard the new commercial for the "Sopranos"??? "That's bad"... Well, if I am not mistaken that is the late R.L. Burnside...

BTW, Part B...
