That's right, Steve! Thirds were referred to as "devil's triad", while seconds were merely "sloppy".Fifths, inexplicably, were referred to as "the devil's birdbath", and fourths were variously designated as strong, weak, electromagnetic, and gravity. Sixths and sevenths were known as "the devil's sixths" and "the devils's sevenths", respectively, apparently due to the general paucity of imagination preceeding the renaissance.
Hope this helps!!!
