Me & my wife Debbie made a lot of new friends when we lived in Broughton. We completely missed the Silver Jubilee bash as we were unaware of it taking place, even though we only lived 2 minutes walk from The Star.

I still watch all the videos I filmed at the folk club, Redmayne, Gentlemen Soldier, Claire Mooney, Stanley Accrington & many others including a couple of appearances myself.

Boy, I miss that place. Since it closed we've had 3 children, which just goes to show that there's little else to do on a Wednesday night.

There were a few songs played there that I still find myself singing around the house, my kids particularly like the ones about "Freddy the Frog" & "Bouncing Billy Barker"
