Subject: Review: Dan Haywood's New Hawks
Went to see Dan Haywood at Dulcimer in Manchester last night. As ever, he was atonishing. Tonight's line up was two acoustic guitars, two fiddles (including some cracking sawing folk fiddle) and percussion/lap guitar.

Dan is like the missing link between the Incredible String Band, psychedelic-era Donovan, early John Otway, Syd Barrett and 'Blood on the Tracks' era Dylan, all sung in a warm and woozy Black Country accent. A regional treasure and a fine and idiosyncratic songwriter.

If you get the chance to see him live, do. In the meantime here's his Myspace - good as it is, its not a patch on the live experience: New Hawks
