If there are any Irish sessions in your area, you might want to go to them and ask around. A warning, though: not to sound snobbish, but it really is an often mis-used instrument, with some players not bothering to dampen the sound and banging away at it. I'm a fan of drumming, so I'm not stating an anti-Bodhran preference, I'm just saying choose your teachers wisely. Good Bodhran players can really drive a session and give it lift.
