There are a surprising number of errors in the various posted versions of the supposed lyrics on the Net, the most striking being the seemingly universal replacement of the word "foe" with "fool" in "the foe has crossed over to the other side"...and "ravaged land" with "rapper's land".

I get the feeling that there are a lot of young people out there now who have never even heard the word "foe" in their lives. Dylan has written the song very much in the vernacular and mindset of the Civil War era itself...."foe" was a common word to use and there were no rappers back then, that's for danged sure! ;-)
