The only way I can imagine this show being better would be if Jed were in it. Ed Miller is one of the great voices out there today. And when he sings Brian MacNeil written songs ....... magic. Jed turned me on to Ed's stuff, and Brian's stuff ages ago. We are working out an arrangement of Song of the Hammer right now. And when Ed sings Robbie Burns, the heather starts growing out of the walls. Amazing. Get him to sing Aye, Waukin' O'.

Many folks concentrate on Seamus' wide repertoire of songs, and his humour. Fair enough, because in both areas he is lightening quick, and deep in knowledge. But if you really want a treat, watch him when he decides to show his mastery of stringed instruments. I would bet that when he is playing with Ed, he will do some backing stuff that will blow your kilt up. One night in Washington DC, he and I did a little pub hopping. I watched him sit down and play session stuff, and was gobsmacked at his mastery of the fretboard.

So ...... DFW'ers. I would strongly recommend you get to this show. I would give anything to be there and sing with two of my musical heroes (one who is a great friend and brother). You will only have regrets if you miss it.

Seamus, tell Ed he has a huge, in the literal and rhetorical sense, in Michigan.

All the best,

Mick
