Thread Name: The Weekly Walkabout cum Talkabout
Subject: RE: The Weekly Walkabout cum Talkabout
Well...imagine that. After some pretty big chunks of time over the last month, I posted something which was in jest, and something I have posted on other walkabout threads before, which was promptly deleted. Maybe its because its because I have been insanely busy at work, and haven't been on mudcat since the US election, that I hadn't noticed the current state of the walkabout threads. I posted a self written mild jab at David based on the extremely well known Fairport song Walk Awhile. Ok, I have posted this on walkaboutsverse threads before, but I gotta tell you-moderator, or moderators, that I am royally pissed. Considering that WAV perpetually answers questions put to him with the same answers ad infinitum, my use of an inoffensive joke is to put it mildly, rather infuriating. I will freely admit to losing my temper with various posters on here on occasion, but I like to think that I have taken care of that either in public or in private with the individual. Tempers get the best of you sometimes, and for those that have witnessed that and may have felt slighted, my apologies. But the deletion of such a mild post pisses me off. Its not anyones right to tell me that I should refrain from joining a thread if I disagree with it, or to stay above the BS line. I have shared a lot of jokes, and some good solid info in the year plus I have been on mudcat regularly. But the deletion of this one post seriously makes me question why I should bother. David has very backward views, is a shameless self promoter of his own work that would make even "Dr." Brinkely, for those who know whom I speak of might attest to, yet his ramblings, manifesto, life's work, whatever you seek to call it, go on, day after weary day, with little admonishment. Maybe its a good thing I have been quiet the last couple of weeks, because if I had been more on the ball, this may not have come out so nice. If I am guilty of repetition to all you who seek to prop up a man that has to defend nearly EVERY blessed thing that he writes, questionable on so many levels (women and tennis anyone-just check WAV's views about that, which are on record here)then I will admit guilt. Far be it from me, to challenge someone who holds that view with glee in 2008 and expect a hastily composed parody of an almost 40 year old song stick around on a public forum for more than 5 minutes to think that. Of course, I must have it all wrong to expect such a thing. Thanks mudcat, I'm ever so grateful. Another post lost to the dust.
