Thread Name: CD: Jessica Haines & Mark Kaiser: So Here's to You
Subject: Review: Haines & Kaiser: So Here's to You
I was looking for a song - don't remember which one now, but I found it on an album called So Here's To You, by Jessica Haines and Mark Kaiser. The title song, of course, is Alan Bell's lovely parting song, and the other songs on the CD are mostly traditional. Jessica has a rich voice and an intelligent, unaffected style; and she interprets the songs very well. I take it that Mark Kaiser must be the instrumentalist, since Haines sings all the songs solo.
I bought this album as a download, so I don't have any album notes or background information. Can somebody tell me about Mark and Jessica and their music?

Here's the track list:

  1. The Hills of Connenmara
  2. The Grey Selchie
  3. Hughie Graeme
  4. Whole Heap of Little Horses
  5. In London So Fair
  6. Caleb Meyer
  7. Flower of Magherally
  8. Tell Me Ma
  9. The Ballad of Tim Evans
10. Poor Wayfaring Stranger
11. Eppie Morrie
12. Fruit of the Yew
13. Crooked Jack
14. Both Sides the Tweed
15. Matty Groves
16. Johnny Jump Up
17. So Here's to You
