Thread Name: Favorite Blues Songs
Subject: Lyr Add: KINDHEARTED WOMAN BLUES^^
I'm new to Mudcat and I just found this thread. As Townes van Zandt reportedly said, "There's only two kinds of music... there's blues and then there's Zippity-Do-Dah". Anyway, here's one of my favourites:

Kindhearted Woman Blues - Robert Johnson

(original tune is B - play in A capo on 2nd)

I got a kindhearted woman, do anything in this world for me
I got a kindhearted woman, do anything in this world for me
But these evil hearted women, man they will not let me be

I love my baby, my baby don't love me
I love my baby, my baby don't love me
I really love that woman, can't stand to leave her be

Bridge:
Ain't but the one thing, makes Mr. Johnson drink
I get worried how you treat me baby, I begin to think
Oh babe, my life don't feel the same
You breaks my heart, when you call Mr. So and So's name

She's a kindhearted woman, she studies evil all the time
She's a kindhearted woman, she studies evil all the time
You well's to kill me baby, just to have it on your mind

(Optional verse depending on which recording you listen to)

Someday, someday, I will shake your hand goodbye
Someday, someday, I will shake your hand goodbye
I can't give you any more of my lovin' ‘cause I just ain't satisfied.
