My bedroom has actually been one of the neatest and least cluttered rooms for a while now. But there is a reason.

Four years ago we had a burglary. At the time I had lots of spare furnishings and boxes of stuff lined up in there (it's a large room, I wasn't using all of it for my bedroom furniture, so I kept stuff out of the way of some of the rest of the house). When the sheriff walked through the house with one of the detectives I was behind them, and he commented "they really clobbered this room." I had to say "actually, no, they didn't touch it."

We all thought that was really funny, but you know, you sometimes have to read the writing on the wall.
