'Pom' comes from 'POHM'-Prisoner Of His (or Her) Majesty, ie, jailbirds from Britain, which DOES include the Scots, Welsh & Irish. I always fall over laughing when the Ozzies call us Brits. They don't seem to realise that they're all descended from the lowlife!!
