Then, MTed, I return to my original question: WHAT COULD YOU COMPLAIN OF? What do you do -- and who is on the other end of the line or desk? "We would like to complain because -- "Yes, go on? what would you like to complain about?" "That song". "Yes, and why?" That is my question.

The alternatives:

1)Offensive to black people. That makes no sense. We're talking getting white people to remember what they did.
2) Offensive to white people. Who would admit it? "I am offended because it didn't happen? Isn't relevant? Makes me uncomfortable because of guilt?"
Reply: "Er, of course sir, you shouldn't be reminded of your guilt, we'll take this off immediately".
3) And? Not appropriate for a plane flight? What on earth has a plane flight got to do with it? They ain't hanging people from the overhead bins.
I just don't get it. Really. Makes no sense to me at all. I can't picture the scene. "Oh, stewardess, while you are getting me some peanuts, could you do something about this song?" "Why?" "Oh, I don't know, I just don't like it." "There is Neil Diamond on the other channel, sir." "I know, but this is disrupting my enjoyment of a black jazz singer who does such a fine job of Son House's Death Letter Blues"." Makes NO SENSE.
