It's been a long while with no verse and no talk.
I'd much work to do and some bad writer's block.
Don't worry, your gift is not being held hostage.
It's somewhere in the mail flow with the proper postage.
A selection of presents to achieve proper balance
So they'll mention you're "gifted" as well as your talents.
I'm sure all the presents will find a good home
So forgive me for trying to rhyme that with "poem".
I'm still an apprentice at writing in verse
It'll be there real soon, so things could be far worse.
