Thread Name: Coffee Drinking Nighthawk - WWVA
Subject: RE: Coffee Drinking Nighthawk - WWVA
I remember my father singing, "When father hung the paper on the wall." Me and my brothers would always ask him to get his guitar out and sing it, but we never heard it on a record or on the air.
We lived in Baltimore, Md. This was about 1960.

I was just trying to find the lyrics to that song, because I wanted to sing it to my grand kids.

I vaguely remember:
When father hung the paper on the wall,
He hung the corner paper in the hall.
He papered all the stairs and papered all the chairs,
And hung a border on grandmothers shaw.

When father hung the paper on the wall,
It was the funniest sight you ever saw.
And like birds of a feather, we all stuck together,
When father hung the paper on the wall.

I can't find the lyrics anywhere. If anyone has them and would be willing to share..........PLEASE sedn them to: Kansascitytom@yahoo.com

Thanks, It was great reading ya'lls memories.
