It depends who planned that operation and how hung up they are on using macabre symbolism as to whether they picked the date deliberately to send a spooky message of some sort.

It could be mere coincidence. It could be deliberate intent. I doubt we'll ever know, but we'll hear lots of interesting theories. I've heard some of them already...
