I bought my banjo from Zepp. It was the first time I'd ever bought an instrument -particularly an expensive one - sight unseen (unless it was one I had built for me.) I felt comfortable because his description was so good and because he posted sound files of all the banjos for comparison.

However, he is almost certainly out of the price range in this thread.
