Historical and Political Songs and Ballads of the Stuart Era is a unique musical compilation of songs of and about the period 1587 to 1784,The book brings together a large collection of songs,ballads,broadsides and poetry about the Stuarts and their influence in England and Scotland.It includes songs covering the period from the execution of Mary Queen of Scots,the Gunpowder Plot.The Rump Parliament,Commonwealth,Glorious Revolution,The South Sea Bubble,The Jacobite Rebellions of 1715 and 1745 and their aftermath.Each song has a separate note explaining the historical and political event to which it pertains.Most songs have musical accompaniment.
