I've started to sing Sometimes I feel Like a Motherless Child recently, accompanying myself on the mandolin. It's one of the songs in Dix Bruce's excellent First Lessons: Mandolin book (Mel Bay publishers).

Twice now, I've mis-sung the line in the second verse 'Sometimes I feel like a feather in the air' as 'Sometimes I feel like a ferret in the air'. I don't know whether that's a Freudian slip or not, or what that says about me...
