Whew! Back up and running!

Changing out that hard drive was way-easy! The front of the box comes off easily, remove four screws, unplug two SATA cables, put the new one in it's place and reverse those steps. I found the Western Digital formatting disk from the purchase of another hard drive last year, and used it to boot the computer and format to NTFS. Installed the HD restoration disks from there, spent a few minutes deleting programs I know I don't want (still!) then upgraded to XP-Pro. Gradually have installed devices, the printer, extra monitor, zip drive, and the security software.

I'll see if I have all of the stuff for the old drive to go in the enclosure (it is the right box, after all, but may be missing a piece of cable), and then I'll start on the big programs. MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, etc.

I'm bushed. Lots of dust today.
