If you're in the Detroit/Windsor area, there is an open Mic night usually on the 2nd Friday of each month from Sept to June. It's at Mackenzie Hall in Windsor. For 10 years from 1983 to 1993, my family ran The Old Sandwich Song Circle (Sandwich was the original European settlement in Ontario, and is now part of Windsor. It was inspired by some visits to the Vancouver Song Circle in 1982. It was fun, but we got tired.).
