Some years back, reacting to a particularly cloying Christmas song, I started singing:

It's Baby's last Christmas,
He's going to die.
It's baby's last Christmas,
And no one knows why...

My wife told me, "Don't sing that, it's horrible."

I said, well, yes, it was, but the original was horrible too.
