Been there, done that on the cat pee problem. These days I'm nursing the younger cat through what we think is fatty liver disease--the symptoms are classic. A fat cat that loses weight is susceptible to forming this problem because as the fat is broken down it isn't processed well and messes up the liver. The answer is to run calories through the cat to clean out the liver, but the condition itself causes a sort of anorexia, and death if it isn't treated. You have to force the food into the cat, sometimes for as long as three months. No fun for anyone.
