My daughter has just sent me photos of her partner Alex frying an egg in a pan on the deck at the back of the house they moved into a few weeks back, in Melbourne, Australia.

And I mean, frying, like putting an egg in a pan with a bit of oil and placing it on the (black-painted) boards of the deck at the back of the house. Took about 10 minutes, apparently. Then they ate it.

And people are playing championship tennis, just down the road...
