Boy, what a can of vermicelli this opens up: snobbery and reverse snobbery, country and folk, Shakerist classicism (the spirit, not the guitar type) and decoration/ostentation.Not to mention new and used, import and home-produced, acoustic and /or electric,north and south, and collectors who don't play.And then there's the matter of endorsements by famous people, the relationship, or lack of same, between honesty and advertising, and the blurry line between need, want, and gotta have.
