Just found this thread after posting on the one about snow. I'd hoped that would make me feel cooler.
It's not just Melbourne that's suffering. We're in Western Victoria where there's no water supply on tap. We rely on tanks with run-off from the roof. Melbourne is on the sea -- well a bay. It's hotter out here in the bush.
It's the wildlife I worry about. We've already pushed them to the brink. I'm sharing our water with the birds and reptiles, Dunarts, Possums, Wallabies -- but in 110 degrees the water becomes scalding hot in an hour. I try not to think about the birds beyond our little oasis.
It's already 100 degrees at 8.00 in the morning and there's at least another week of it.
Icebergs to here too please. Yesterday if possible.
