Most of the things that happen in the world of politics (and business) (and high finance) are accomplished by more than one person...by a group of people working together toward a common purpose, and they usually don't openly tell everyone else exactly what they're doing! That being the case, it's not a bit surprising that we have a lot of conspiracy theories, because we have a lot of conspiracies to theorize about.
