Makes me think of Benny; got him as a farm kitten on a Westmorland holiday - the only one in the litter that didn't flay your flesh off soon as stroke them. Thing was, I'd meet Benny in the fields and he would be totally wild, wouldn't know me at all; nothing of the domestic moggy, but back home, an hour or too later, there he'd be, curled up on my knee...
