Look on any OS map. Jacksons Lane, Malkins Bank, Charles Bottom, Hunters Way. A sample from places I know well, I am sure we can all produce hundreds. Obviously, in formal grammatical terms you would expect apostrophes, but custom dictates you don't use them in place names. That's the way it is."
