Well, considering that "The Rolling Mills..." was penned by a Brit ex-pat resident in New York, it's a not-surprising parody based on the NJ stereotype... for me it's useful to have those sorts of stories about to limit the population growth. Y' don't want everybody coming in to trample on the Pine Barrens, or all those nice green rural bits, etc.... ;-)
