Some critics make a specialty out of admiring films that 99% of people can't relate to at all. It shows that only they (the critic) are brilliant enough to understand what the film is saying. ;-) There's nothing that brings a glow to the pathologically pretentious ego like thinking that you are the only one who "gets it".
