Speaking of trees, to me the question is like comparing apples and oranges.

There are too many variables to assess anything. Right now, making any money at all is preferable!

Obviously solo type gigs would pay more at low fees (less to divide). The more popular the style of music the more potential for success but also you have more competition.

Hold onto your day job.
