When I first became aware of this (maybe a day-and-a-half ago), I felt a glimmer of hope that maybe public opinion would FINALLY come around to sanity regarding pot. After all, if Michael Phelps can catch an occasional buzz and still accomplish what he does, how freakin' bad can the stuff possibly be?

I'm becoming less optimistic by the minute now. Some asshole politician in a state where he doesn't live is grandstanding about prosecution? Gimme a break...
