That message to Harpgirl was from me, logged-out. Sorry.

SleepyRosie, I'm conscious of the 'dynamic' as you put it. How, for good or bad, things are changing in what it means to be a man or a woman in these times. I think that dynamic is pretty much created by a reappraisal or assessment of 'women' and that 'man' is pretty much shaped by trying to adapt or fit in around it. A lot of flux I think and a lot of uncertainty.

Regarding the porn thing generally; no pun intended, but it's a hard issue. I think it's generally accepted that men and women often rely and respond to - for whatever reason - different forms of stimulus. I think that's why porn for women (in the way that porn is understood as a primarily visual medium), will always be a smaller niche market.

As for women in porn, again a hard and mixed topic. If women want to appear in porn then, ultimately it's up to them - and I think that for the vast majority of them now, it is their choice, it's not like Linda Lovelace-style exploitation or something*. I'd rather they became doctors or scientists or artists or something, but again, this perhaps falls into the idea of telling women what they should or shouldn't be.

*Prostitution's another matter though. I think forced recruitment is probably on the rise now that the EU has opened-up.
